Brian C. Vance

Brian Vance has 19 years of litigation experience and represents a wide variety of commercial and non-profit organizations in myriad litigation matters. His practice areas include commercial litigation of all types: insurance coverage litigation, including complex multi-site environmental and construction defect coverage disputes; employment and discrimination matters; and corporate governance issues. Mr. Vance began his career in 1987 in the corporate litigation department of the Wilmington, Delaware office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom where he worked as an associate on some of the largest mergers and corporate transactions of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1993, Mr. Vance joined Christie, Pabarue, Mortensen and Young, where he has litigated some of the largest environmental insurance coverage disputes in the nation. In the employment area, in addition to advising employers with respect to employment practices, Mr. Vance has represented employers in cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, racial and gender discrimination, FMLA and ADA violations. Mr. Vance’s pro bono work includes representing the victim of racial employment discrimination in one of the earliest successful Title VII cases in the District of Delaware.
