Elaine Whiteman Klinger has extensive experience representing major insurance company clients in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Many of these matters have involved insurance coverage disputes relating to environmental property damage, bad faith, asbestos, toxic torts and contribution claims. Ms. Klinger has prepared, managed and tried complex environmental insurance coverage matters. In connection with handling these actions, Ms. Klinger has taken and defended hundreds of depositions of fact and expert witnesses, and has worked closely with technical experts whose areas of expertise span diverse disciplines. Ms. Klinger has considerable experience negotiating the resolution of complex commercial disputes – both non-litigated and litigated matters. Ms. Klinger also has significant experience counseling clients on issues involving insurance coverage, toxic torts and bad faith.

Ms. Klinger also devotes a portion of her practice to employment-related matters – including litigating claims of wrongful discharge, harassment and various types of discrimination. Ms. Klinger assists corporate and individual clients with employment matters through counseling, and by reviewing and drafting severance agreements, employment contracts and non-compete clauses.
